MORRISON, Roderick (Rod) Peter

January 10, 1947 - June 17, 2026

Roderick Peter Morrison passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, at age 79.

Rod is lovingly remembered by Noreen, his wife of 47 years; his sons, Mark (Tara) and Matthew (Trisha); and his five cherished grandchildren, Brendan, Kyla, Joshua, Luke and John-Paul. He is also survived by his siblings, Johnny (Kim), Donald, Margaret, Mary (Dave), and David (Lynn), along with many nieces and nephews. Rod was predeceased by his sister Patricia (Phil) and his brother Angus (Lorraine).

Rod worked at Hastings Racetrack before moving to Qualicum Beach where he dedicated 37 years building a successful small business, Sea Island Homes, serving his customers with integrity and professionalism.

Rod played soccer for the Shady Rest Eagles, coached his sons and grandsons with Oceanside FC, and spent 24 years organizing 6-Aside Soccer in the Oceanside area. He was often seen at the soccer field giving words of encouragement from the side lines. Rod also loved ballroom dancing and was involved with Bill W. for 43 years.

A faithful member of Church of the Ascension, Rod was active in the Knights of Columbus and in many aspects of parish life.

In support of Manna, he worked tirelessly to collect clothing, shoes, boots, and McDonald’s gift cards for those in need. He was especially proud of his popular hot dog program on Saturday mornings.

Rod’s life exemplified service, generosity, and compassion to family and friends. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
